Organizer: Dr Junhong Zhou, Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology
With the development and application of advanced technologies such as Cyber Physical System, Industrial Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Cloud Computing, etc., more and more manufacturing enterprises are embracing smart manufacturing as an essential step toward the realization of industry 4.0. Smart manufacturing is a powerful disruptive force with the potential to restructure the competitive landscape of global manufacturing and empower a new generation of market leaders. Smart manufacturing is a broad concept and enabled by a combination of various technologies and solutions. The objective of this session is to provide a forum for researchers to discuss and disseminate research work related to emerging technologies that are enabling smart manufacturing. Original innovative research papers addressing the following three key technology areas and their potential applications are invited:
Artificial intelligence for manufacturing: research focused on cloud computing, big data, and improved machine learning algorithms to help companies achieve faster response and more efficient operations.
Industrial internet of things: research focused on the use of smart sensors and actuators to enhance manufacturing operations and industrial processes.
Smart manufacturing system: research focused on the system solution that integrated Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) with AI and system implementation to improve manufacturing process visibility and decisions. Research papers with proper consideration for practical applications, e.g., in the form of prototypes, pilot implementation and/or with industrial collaboration partnership will be considered more favorably for acceptance.
Please submit your full paper on the submission website by deadline.
